More Camping Fun--sort of!

We had quite a camping trip. We left a few hours after Jason got back from his Wisconsin interview trips. We quickly packed last minute things and we were off. We got to the beach around 5:00 pm. Our plan was to unload our stuff and head out to eat before the kids got too hungry. So much for plans!! As we pulled into our site, we realized that we did not have our camper keys. After a few minutes of the "blame game" Jason was able to break in by squeezing his body through an outside compartment and underneath the sofa. He unlocked the door, but then it closed behind him and locked again. So, he had to repeat the squeeze procedure! Picture screaming, hungry kids, and two grumpy parents. Anyway, we finally headed out to eat around 7. We hit the local Pizza Hut buffet, thinking it would be fast. WRONG! We apparently found the only pizza buffet that didn't actually have pizza. After waiting 15 minutes, they finally brought out one pizza to a crowded restaurant. Everyone ran up to the buffet to find . . . a dessert pizza!?!?!?! After another 10 minutes of nothing, we paid for our drinks and left. Not a good start to our trip! The next day we realized that I had forgotten underwear for Connor and swimsuits for Callie. After a quick shopping trip, things got much better.

One night we drew a treasure map and buried some "treasure" on the beach for both of the kids. Connor had lots of fun following his map and digging up his treasure. He ran up to people on the beach to tell them about what he had found.

The campground has a climbing wall and trampolines. Connor liked to climb a few feet and then go down. According to him "going down is the best part"

FUNNY!!! I laughed as I pictured Jason squeezing in the camper- twice! I'm glad that things got better. Y'all are so creative to do the whole treasure map thing. It sounds like a lot of fun. You'll have to let me know exactly what you did. I think Mak would love it!
