New Favorite Website

You have to go to a website called awkwardfamilyphotos.com. It is hilarious. Keep looking until you find the cabbage patch one--priceless!

A Few Random Pictures

We celebrated Jason's birthday on August 8th. The kids were very excited to make a cake for him.

Here's one of Callie all decked out for soccer.

Connor loves Target almost as much as I do.

Callie loves going to Pedros for the warm tortillas. Plus, they make great masks!

T-ball

Connor played t-ball for the first time this summer. The first part of this video cracks me up. Watch how the ball bounces right by him while he is twirling. He did get much better after a few games though.

Soccer Star

Callie has been playing soccer this summer. It is a 3v3 league for 3 and 4 year olds. The first few games were painful to watch, but they finally seemed to catch on last week. Before this game, we got Callie all decked out in some soccer equipment--pink of course!

I have been trying to decide whether I think 3 is too little for organized sports. On one hand, they sometimes don't want to play and you have to drag them in. But, after a few games, she really did catch on. Next year I think she will really be ready to play.

Connor started t-ball this year at age 6, for the first time. He was clearly way behind the other kids. Maybe if we had started him earlier, he would have had more of a chance. Although, he did improve dramatically by the end of the session too.

Summer Fun

It has been a busy summer for the Williams kids (and Mom). Connor is almost finished with summer school. I have been leaving the house at 7:30 to get him there on time, so I am glad that is over! Callie is doing a preschool program at the Y two mornings a week, which she loves.

Connor's teeth just keep getting better and better. Here is a recent picture:

Notice how the front teeth are about half-way in, but then the outside bottom teeth are missing. It just cracks me up every time I look at him.

Callie loves her "pancake people"

Connor "the entrepreneur" set up a lemonade stand at Lake Redstone. He tried for 10$, but ended up selling cups for 10 cents.
Callie keeps cool, even asleep.

Random Things

Here are a few random pictures of our activities so far this summer.

We spend a lot of time outside with various neighborhood kids. One time, I got them to stop running around long enough to take a picture.

We've been to the zoo a couple of times. We are really lucky to have a nice (and best of all FREE) zoo here in town.

This is a picture of Connor on his last day of school. When I went to pick him up, the teachers were lining the exit blowing bubbles and dancing to piped in music. It was kind of like the exit at a wedding. The teachers were a little giddy at the thought of the last day of school . . . me, not so much!

We've spent some time at our campground. One Sunday we just drove up for the day and went swimming. Callie would spend all day in the pool if she could.

We've also been thinking about getting a puppy. We visited some adorable Havanese puppies twice, but I think we are going to wait one more year. First, we need to fence in our yard. Also, Callie was a little over-excited with the puppy, and we were afraid she would hurt him. She seemed to think it was kind of like her very own doll, and she kept putting him down the slide and carrying him around.

We had some very hot days last week and I decided to make our own little waterpark.

Last Friday we bought a tube to pull behind our boat. At first, Callie asked if she was going to "float away to a new land" and then she claimed she saw pirates. We went really slow at first, and I taught the kids to do a "thumbs up" so that we knew they were okay. Callie rides so low in tube, that all you can see is her little thumb sticking up. She loves it though! Connor rode a couple times by himself and we got him going pretty fast. He wasn't afraid at all--he even stood up a couple of times.

The best part about tubing is that it wears them out! This is Callie's "boat nest" that she made for herself.

What's happening?

Callie and Connor both started gymnastics at Gymfinity last week. It's a really nice facility and Callie was excited to wear her special gymnastics leotard. It's all about the clothes you know!

We are trying to use our camper more this summer. So, we decided to get a seasonal site and just park it there for the summer. It is a less daunting task to get ready when the camper is already set up somewhere. We are at a campground just outside of Baraboo, so there are lots of grandparents to visit and the Dells is close by. I think it will be really fun.

Callie's last day of preschool at the end of May. She is already extremely bored. She loves to learn and is really missing the classroom. Starting next week, she is in some summer camps and she is also doing some preschool classes at the Y, so hopefully that will keep her busy. Connor's last day is on Friday.
Our big project of the summer is finishing our basement. We have a contractor, so it is more a matter of staying out of their way than anything else. The framing is done and drywall starts tomorrow. We will hopefully be done in about a month.
